the soul. A magic that calms the spirit, yet causes the imagination to soar.
This magic enables us to realize that anything is possible. The
possibilities of the human spirit are as
endless as the beauty that can be found amongst natures wonderful
creations. There was a time when
the glorious sight of these miracles of nature where only an image in a book or
on a postcard for people with disabilities, times have changed dramatically.
Welcome to Adaptive
Summiteers Association, a nonprofit organization formed to educate, encourage and enable the physically disabled to fully enjoy the great outdoors. Our goal is to work to make wilderness areas accessible through education, information, and technology without harming and/or altering the environment. Whether you
have a disability or age has slowed you down a bit, we will supply you with all
the available information to enhance you outdoor adventure experience. We will include in our
database information on great places to enjoy snow skiing, horseback
riding, kayaking, biking and climbing. We will give you the where, when,
and how to enjoy these exciting adventures in the most incredible spots. You need only supply the desire for the
challenge of adventure.
We feel that the only barrier to
realizing our
hopes and dreams is our level of desire. “How bad do I want it?” is
the question we must ask ourselves before we give in to the potential barriers
to our accomplishments. Advancements in mobility devices appear practically the
moment that a need arises. We have the power to adapt to all of life’s
challenges the instant our level of desire surpasses self doubt. Take
the information that we offer and participate in the magic that awaits in this
magnificent world of nature. |
